Entering Grades 7-10

3-Day Camp

7/1 - 7/3

9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Learn the science behind SARS-CoV-2 antibody detection during our ELISA antibody detection experiment. Explore the mechanisms of DNA amplification using PCR. Discover how enzyme kinetics affect the production of sustainable biofuels in our cellobiase experiment. Investigate biotech separation techniques with both protein and DNA gel electrophoresis. Find the DNA in fruits and vegetables using DNA extraction. No prior science knowledge necessary! Our camp focuses on teaching both beginners and advanced science students current biotechnology techniques. Join us for an exciting week of biotech in July!

Science Olympiad

Entering Grades 7-10

7/8 - 7/12

9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Our Science Olympiad Camp allows students to refine their skills across a broad sampling of the sciences, such as natural and physical science, as well as different aspects of engineering, mathematics, problem-solving, and hands-on application. Located in the Dolan Family Science, Technology, and Research Center, the week-long program is headed by moderators of our award-winning Science Olympiad Club.

Intro to Science for Middle School Students

Entering Grades 5-8

7/8 - 7/12

9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Chaminade middle school science camp is back! Boys and girls entering grades 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are invited to a week of science fun and activities at Chaminade’s Science Technology and Research Center. Campers will meet new people while participating in engaging experiments focused on biology, chemistry, physics, biotechnology, genetics, etc. We will have lightly competitive science activities each day, and the week will culminate with an outdoor science field event on Friday. Join us for a science filled week in July!

Anatomy and Physiology

Entering Grades 7-10

7/15 - 7/19

9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Discover the location and functions of both human and animal bones, muscles, organs etc. using our two state of the art Anatomage tables. The Anatomage tables allow for fully immersive hands-on digital dissections of human and animal structures. In addition to our Anatomage table dissections, our camp offers students the opportunity to explore the anatomy of the earthworm, frog, fetal pig, sheep brain, sheep heart and cow heart with “old fashioned” physical lab dissections. Campers are invited to join in the physical dissections, or just watch if they choose. In addition to anatomy, campers will learn about the homeostatic interactions between components of our body during the physiology section of camp. No prior science knowledge necessary! Our camp focuses on teaching both beginners and advanced science students concepts in anatomy and physiology. Join us for a fun week of biology this July!

Robotics

The first level of robotics quickly introduces the topics of coding, circuits, engineering, the basics of circuit electricity, LEDs, buzzers, motors, and more. No prior coding experience is needed to begin.

Entering Grades 7-10

7/22 - 7/26
